MISSIONS

Missions start as basic ideas. Everyone collaboratively creates them in the Mission Topic. The Mission Topic, once finished, will basically describe the idea of what is about to occur, following a variation of possible outcomes (one of which will be met). Conditions for victory should be explicit, involve plot transition, and will rely on staff verdict. After the decision is settled between everyone, the Mission will start. In every Mission, death is allowed so be wary of you character and any possible mistakes at all times. To suggest an idea for a mission, use the basic outline from previous missions and PM Reila

User Hiatus Announcements

This is where you announce if you will be leaving for a while. Please note if this is an extended period of time and your character holds a position, they may lose it. Also be sure to post here if you have lost your muse--your drive and just want to take a break. Everyone gets here eventually. Just make sure to come back.

Amestris

The geography of Amestris is quite diverse, varying from desert areas in the East to an icy mountain range in the North and plains to the West and South. Amestris is a mostly land-locked nation, with no access to any known sea, as it seems to be bordered completely by other countries (Creta, Aerugo, Drachma, and the East Desert, followed by the country of Xing). It is currently unknown what lies beyond all these nations, whether that's all there is to the continent or if there are countries other than those. Only one nation is currently known, an island nation off the coast of Creta called Carraig. It is told that there is a water route from Xing to Amestris (considered to be "the long way around"), but its location is unknown. It seems to be a quite extensive country with a large countryside population and low urban concentration. The biggest city is the capital, Central City, that also has the largest buildings and busiest urban life. However, after a grueling war against Creta, the beautiful city now lies in ruins. Central HQ and hospital were destroyed along with the Eastern HQ. Both were devastated by bombs, the casualties ranking high. Now they struggle to regain what has been lost. The Western HQ, and northern Fort Briggs, though damaged, remain intact. For the injured soldiers still at Central, there is an army hospital that remains. The population seems to concentrate itself in the east, south, and central areas, being the north quite isolated and the west with very sparse cities. The climate is also highly diverse and can vary from a typical Mediterranean climate near the southern border to near glacial in the region of Briggs. But most of the country varies between a temperate and a subtropical climate. Language: Amestrian (German)

Xing

Xing is a large empiric nation far to the east of Amestris, across the Great Desert and on the opposite side of the ruins of Xerxes. Supposedly, the nation of Xing is made up of fifty hereditary clans all under the rule of a single Emperor, who cements his rule by taking the daughter of each clan's chief to be his concubine and bear him an heir. But that's obviously not the case anymore. Ever since Ace Aeries inherited the throne from his murdered parents, a lot was reformed to fit the naivete of the boy. Joining his brother, Spade Aeries, in an alliance, Xing is at peace. Language: Xingese (Chinese)

Drachma

Drachma is the large and mostly unknown country due north of Amestris. There have been many conflicts between Amestris and Drachma in the past, however, for the majority of the timeline, the two nations stand on a shaky Pact of Non-Aggression. After the pact of Non-Aggression fell through and war resumed, the Czar of Drachma was assassinated secretly under Aurel's orders. The Four Horsemen killed Loki's brother, thus making him the new Czar. Loki formed a new Non-Aggression pact with Reila, but it fell through when Loki was killed by the homunculus Vanity who now reigns supreme. It has become known that RIOTE now works hand-in-hand with the Sekretar Vanity to rule the country. Language: Drachman (Russian)

Creta

Creta is a nation that borders Amestris to the west. Also off it's coast lies a neutral nation called Carraig. Along with Aerugo, Creta continually engages Amestris in border disputes and a great deal of blood has been shed by both sides in their long history as military enemies. Though there was a short period of peace between the two after a large battle and many negotiations in West City, the recent death of the Cretan Prime Minister Markus in Amestris has destroyed that. It is thought to be an ally of Aerugo due to them both being at war with Amestris. Language: Cretan (English).

Aerugo

Aerugo is a nation that borders Amestris to the south and continually engages in territorial skirmishes between the two countries. It is also due south of Creta, and west of the Great Desert. Notably, Aerugo involved itself in the Ishval Civil War by providing Ishvallan soldiers with small arms whose model numbers had been effaced. But when Ishvallan refugees implored Aerugo to grant them sanctuary from the massacre, the Aerugese government balked at assisting them and disavowed all knowledge of smuggling in weapons. Aerugo is run by a monarchial government, as it has a royal family. It is thought to be an ally of Creta due to them both being at war with Amestris. Currently, they are preparing for further war now. Language: Aerugese (Japanese)

Kamahen

Kamahen is a rather large island southwest of Aerugo. In the distant past, Kansaiben (a different dialect of Aerugese) speakers were exiled from Aerugo to Kamahen by Reila's family line: Emperor Tsukino's great grandfather. The reason for this was to centralize kantoben as the main dialect of Aerugo and to force all others into extinction. Ungoverned and starved for industrialization, Kamahen adopted a royalty-system linked to the very roots of Amaterasu herself. Whereas Aerugo's emperor system fell away from the direct line after Emperor Tsukino's death, Kamahen continued a separate line of sons with Hideo Kiyoshino. Shinto shrines sprung up all over the green-rich, mountainous lands, some big, some small. They grew old with centuries of time yet cared for all the same, but like Rouen, in 1981 Kamahen was attacked by Esparia's evil dictator named Alfonso. However, instead of being purged of its populace, Kamahen fought to the bitter end. Being an island rich in the deep-rooted spirit of Aerugese martial arts, neither side backed down for ten years of struggle. Esparia, already having dealings in Rouen, and new Emperor Hideto, facing a dwindling society, struck a deal in 1991 that sold off the nation of Kamahen to spare the citizens the sacrifices of war. In doing so, Kamahen became owned and ruled by Esparia with an iron fist, erasing their cultures and Esparianizing them, except no further purging occurred and an uneasy peace settled upon Kamahen. Since then, the Emperor of Kamahen (Hideto Kiyoshino) was exiled for fear of retaking power. Having already been exiled twice in history, Emperor Tsukino (Reila's father in Aerugo) allowed the return of just the royal family of Kansaiben speakers into the country, (which was just Hideto Kiyoshino, Makoto Kiyoshino [6 years old], and Sun Montijo [2 years old]). There, he established the Yamaguchi-gumi yakuza that grew to be the largest organization in Aerugo. However, behind the scenes, he grieved for 14 years over how to reclaim Kamahen, failing again and again to establish a workable plan. In the end, he gave up that hope on Mako's twenty-first birthday and satisfied himself for being a yakuza boss for the rest of his years. Language: Aerugese Kansaiben (Japanese Kansai dialect)

Carraig

Off the coast of Creta within a few hours sailing distance is a large island made mostly of sharp, jagged cliffs that peak into small mountains. Because of the dangerous coastline and the mountains that surround them, Carraig is able to keep itself rather secluded from the rest of the world as few ships feel like navigating to get to the few safe ports, giving them quite a good advantage to keep themselves safe from invaders. In ancient times the people of the island were separated into large warring tribes, only coming together slowly over time as they began to find a niche for themselves in working for other countries as mercenaries to pad their armies. The Creig have built up a long and glorious reputation as being fierce warriors and tacticians, known for their tenacity in battle and policies against taking prisoners or leaving survivors. Swearing allegiance to none, Carraig has learned to survive solely on trade as the world moves to more civilized times, the majority of the country's populace working in blacksmithing, engineering and mechanics that contribute to the small nation's exports. With the world growing tense once more due to invasions and issues on the mainland, most of the population is wondering if they will keep their neutrality and carry on with their exports, resume sending battalions of mercenaries to other armies for pay, or if they, too, will be dragged into the struggles. Rouen Ruins

Rouen was once a profound island nation north of Esparia, however it was destroyed in a heated ten-year battle in which all Rouenian citizens were purged by an evil Esparian dictator by the name of Alfonso. All that is left now are scorched lands and ruins overgrown with plant life. Strangely, Rouen is known to be the place that holds the most species of birds. They live inside the large, once ornate, buildings now abandoned and mostly collapsed along with acres and acres of rainforest. The climate of Rouen consists of half a year of intense winters and half a year of summer, and the weather contains much precipitation. Other information regarding Rouen was destroyed in the war or lost to the ages as well as the knowledge of how Rouen was initially destroyed... It has become a taboo to talk about it. Esparia

Esparia is a tropical jungle abundant group of five islands known as Archipelago appropriately. Two days worth of sailing from Creta, yet a few hours sailing from Carraig, Esparia has smooth beaches that compliment landing, seems to be an inviting land yet populated with harsh, pious and xenophobic people. Not technologically advanced as many due to metal being a rare luxury, though there is oil which is in abundance, they make liberal use of plastics, yet vehicles there aren't a common sight, and when they are around, it is a sign of rich people to have access to such machinations. In the past, it was composed of hunter-gatherers that make use of the land to make a basic living, sticking close to one another to stave off the plethora of dangerous predators that lurk in Esparia, and now, in the modern times, those that live away from the main city are armed with firearms to keep those said predators away as gun control is leased for those not inside the safer capital city. Showing self-sufficiency as for the last few decades, war was largely confined to inter-Archipelago combat with one another as they used to be five nations for the five islands. Due to the syndicate taking over and wiping out opposition, and a boom of casinos, brothels, and manufacturing in their exports. Mostly the exports are bananas, and cigars that they are renowned for. The people in Esparia now working as carpenters, smiths, doctors and hunters for the most part, with many others being more of an unsavory bunch of characters. Language: Esparian (Spanish)

Gelemorté

Gelemorté is a large island nation continent to the far southwest of the main continent. It is a large land composed of cold, arctic tundra, with only a few areas of warmer climates. It varies widely in landscape, from a glacierous city-state (Le Glace) to the National Gelemortian Evergreen Forest, which is about the size of Resembool. Aside from geographic features, there are several large city-states, with the main ones being the capital city, Vaingloria, and the famous Mt. Jilliané. In addition, there is an island farther north, at the equator that Gelemorté has claimed as its own: the colony of La Cerisé. The government of Gelemorté is a Monarchy, with the Roi` de Royaume de Gelemorté at the head of the nation, with his second in command the General de Gelemorté (Regardless of actual Military rank). Also to be noted, it is a three-week sail to Gelemorté from the main continent, and planes cannot reach the nation safely due to magnetic fields surrounding the nation which screw up the navigation systems. In addition, the symbol of Gelemorté is the unique Woolly Camel, a camel species that evolved to adapt to the cold of Gelemorté. The Gelemortian colors are gold and burgundy.
